Zigong light color design ingenious, fine production, unique materials. On June 7, 2008, Zigong Lantern Festival in Sichuan Province was approved by The State Council and included in the second batch of national intangible Cultural Heritage list.
Statistics show that in 2000, Zigong registered only 35 lantern enterprises. By 2022, the city has registered 2,136 lantern enterprises, a 60-fold increase in 22 years. These enterprises not only include planning and design, lantern production, but also lantern material production, etc. In Zigong, the lantern industry has formed an upstream and downstream industrial chain of raw material production, creative design, manufacturing and processing, sales and trade. In Zigong, one out of every 20 people is engaged in the lantern industry.
